Wish List-Random

We found the drafting table above at I.O. Metro and decided we needed it for the study.  It wasn't all that much cheaper than the one at Restoration Hardware, but it's local so there would be no shipping.  I don't go to I.O. Metro very often and it's a little out of the way (okay, not really), but I may have to make a special effort so I can keep my eye on this.

Worse case,  I could get the one at Restoration Hardware.  (Worse case.  Yeah right!)
And I love the stool they have with it.

We liked the floors at I.O. Metro for the basement.  This picture makes them seem a little darker than they really are.

I love the color of the green cabinets (not the style) and want that color for our office cabinets.  I think I want bronze hardware instead of the silver they have.  These are in the Kitchen and Bath Ideas inside Metro Builders Supply.

I want the chair above in linen to go in the office with the green cabinets.  It's the Calais at Pottery Barn and I love it!  It's surprisingly comfy!  I love the color of the legs on the linen covered one.

Safety Pins

I have admired the Safety Pin plaques at Ballard Designs for quite some time and finally decided to order them for the laundry room.  I should have read the dimensions (and maybe I did but it never registered) because I didn't expect them to be so gigantic.  I thought about sending them back but I think I'm just going to keep them.  I might end up liking the size and they were really inexpensive.  Heather ordered a set for Hadley's nursery too and loved them.

Note to self.....

....you are allergic to poison ivy, or poison oak, or whatever kind of evil poison that was that you got into at Coppercreek last Friday.

And the APN at the Walmart clinic is your friend.  She's the one with the awesome shot that was injected into your left hip, as well as a sweet prescription pad.

Clearing

More clearing last week... We had the trees and rocks hauled away on Thursday.  It made the slope of the hill seem more steep than it did when all the trees were there.

He pushed these two trees over in about ten seconds.

There were a couple of piles of the large rocks and one was right where the house will be.  So we had to have them hauled away.

After SEVERAL trips like this, that area looks a lot better......
The pile is gone but there are still a lot of rocks!
We haven't been able to actually get all the way to the creek up by where the house will be because its so grown up around it.  I worked to get a place cleared so we can get down to the water now.   The photo above is a "before" and the one below is "after".   I got pretty hot out there but it was nice to listen to the creek running and the birds chirping while I worked.  It would have been perfect except for the Nascar fan who lives nearby (not the Karey and Jerry kind of Nascar fans, the other kind).  He was out trying to see just how loud his engine could get with the transmission in "park".  God's people, as Brad calls them.

Loren worked all day Thursday and Friday and was able to get all the way to the creek in the back.  He drove me down there in his truck and previously, we couldn't hardly even walk back there!  We hadn't really planned on him doing all of that right now, but he wanted the work and we decided he could do it now or do it later and we're glad to have access to the back now.

Wish List - Bald Cypress

I saw a Bald Cypress at War Memorial Golf Course last week and I think I would like to have one at Coppercreek.

The picture above is just one I found on the internet.  The one at War Memorial is a lot shorter than this one and I liked it better.  It was perfectly shaped and smelled good!

Driveway

We got a driveway and had the building site cleared on Friday.

The guy doing the work already had most of the driveway done by the time we got there that morning.

YAY!  A driveway that we can actually take my car down!!

We love the way it goes between the trees!
Brad and I cleaned out all the brush around the big trees later that afternoon.  It looks so much better.
It was neat to watch him push over the big trees.  It was kind of sad too....I had to keep reminding myself that there are plenty of trees out there so losing a few is no big deal.
This is looking at the area we plan on putting the house.

It's nice to see progress! While we were there we met one of our new neighbors.  He was very nice and told us that everyone living out there is retired!  So it sounds like poor Brad will be the only guy on the street who has a job. =)

Random basket

I got one of these GIGANTIC baskets at Pottery Barn last week.  I just happened to be there right after they marked them down to almost nothing and couldn't pass it up.  I got the so-called small one but I had trouble getting it in my car it's so big!  I have no idea what I am going to do with it but I had to get one because it's a giant basket....and really, the possibilities are endless for a giant basket!
