A Kelly Ripa refrigerator

I ordered our refrigerator last week.  The state is giving rebates for certain appliance purchases and we wanted to get in on that and Shay's will keep it for us until we're ready so we went ahead and bought it.

We totally did NOT get the fridge we would have ever wanted. Its an all-refrigerator and an all-freezer but we will put them side-by-side so no one will ever be able to tell its separate units.  Ours will have the trim kit at the top also.  The main reason I didn't want this set is because they are gigantic!  Almost 6 feet wide!

Brad wanted a French door style fridge and I don't even know anymore if I had a preference but this was really the best deal so we went with it.  Besides being big, it doesn't have ice and water in the door.  At first I thought that was a big deal, but the fridge we have now has that feature and we rarely use it.  And we're keeping that one to put in the basement which is where we're probably going to be most of the time.  I have spent several hours at Shay's looking at appliances and I finally just came to a point that I asked the owner which fridge he recommended.  He said this one and I was just happy to have a decision made.  I'm not sure why there are so many refrigerators to choose from.  They all just keep food cold.  There should be 5 choices, not ten thousand.

There are some pros to this fridge though.....its built in and its Electrolux! If its good enough for Kelly Ripa, then its definitely good enough for us!

I'm so happy to have one less thing to think about!

Footprint

We can now see the footprint of the entire house.
The foundation for the sunroom, kitchen, pantry, mudroom and laundry room is done.  The basement isn't under any of those rooms.

Front of the house minus the garage and breezeway.

The breezeway.  I'm standing in the garage looking at the breezeway.  The blocks are about waist high now but that is the level the floor will be when its finished.  In some of the previous drawings the breezeway was going to be quite a bit longer but I think I'm really going to like the size of it now.  There will be a porch on the back of it with a door to the outside.  Its going to be the only access to the backyard from the main level.  The big back patio off the living room and dining room will not have ground access so the porch off the breezeway will get lots of use.  If I can't make Spatz into a complete indoor cat, this is where she will come and go, I hope.

The back of the house from the garage side.  The garage doors will be back here so this is kind of the front of the garage.  Brad really wanted the garage doors to be at the back of the house but I didn't really care.  Now I love the idea!

The foundation for the sunroom is to the left.  Its going to be quite a ways off the ground so Paul is going to make a small storage room under it.
We'll be happy to get those two doors put up so we can lock things in the safe rooms instead of hauling it all back and forth.

No changing the bathrooms and bar now.  The plumbing is in place.

The four squares of concrete on the ground are the foundation for the main level porch posts.

I found this device in the creek with a hose leading up to the house.  I wish we had one of these so I could burn some brush piles and feel safe about it.

Paul wants to wait a couple weeks to fix the driveway.  So I guess we'll be bringing the truck for a while.  We had to drive my car into the field to get around this and it isn't really made for that kind of thing.  You can see to the right of the drive way where they had to dig a four foot trench from the road to the new green box mentioned here.

The huge mess of mud and rocks and blocks and string and boards and plastic and Skoal cans and whatever else is up around the house is driving me a little crazy.  But the driveway looking like this just kills me.  It looked so good this summer.

Outlet finds

Another trip to the Outlet and another thing or two marked off our list!

We got a chair for the desk we currently own that will go in one of the guest bedrooms.

Its the Willoughby dining chair from West Elm and is exactly what I was looking for.  If the legs weren't so dark I might have thought about using them as the dining chair they are meant to be.

We also found a 15-piece set of the All-Clad Copper Core cookware at the Williams-Sonoma Outlet.  We already have three pieces of it and wanted to add more but buying them separately is so expensive.  So getting the employee discount on top of the outlet discount on top of the set discount made it a price we couldn't really pass up.
Now I have no choice but to learn to cook....

West Elm

My fabulous friends, Dawn and Karey, gave me a Pottery Barn gift card for my birthday and I used it today at West Elm online.  I wouldn't call myself a fan of West Elm because my style is much more traditional than contemporary and modern.  BUT I found several things I really wanted over the weekend and I'm not really one to let a gift card get too attached to my wallet, so it was perfect timing!

I have been complaining that Pottery Barn hasn't gotten on board with gray yet (It's THE color this year) so I was excited to see all the gray items at West Elm!  I wish I didn't have to pay shipping, but whatever...it was all free because I had a gift card.
I liked these towels for the master bath.  I think the tasseled fringe will take some getting used to but I love the stripes.

If I had thought there was any way I could get away with it, I would have ordered two of this rug in each size.  That's how much I love it!!  But I thought that might lead to the house at Coppercreek being referred to as the house with the gray striped rugs.  And that would be a decorating failure.

I HAD to have these rugs for the master bath! I love the chevron pattern and the color!!

I found some bedding I really wanted also and since the striped rug is on back order until November 22, I probably need to go ahead and order the bedding before it's too late.

Thank you so much, Karey and Dawn!  You guys are wonderful friends and I can't wait for you to see your gift in place when you come stay for weeks at a time with us at Coppercreek!!!!

Yes, I said weeks at a time.
