Random basket

I got one of these GIGANTIC baskets at Pottery Barn last week.  I just happened to be there right after they marked them down to almost nothing and couldn't pass it up.  I got the so-called small one but I had trouble getting it in my car it's so big!  I have no idea what I am going to do with it but I had to get one because it's a giant basket....and really, the possibilities are endless for a giant basket!

Floor plan

Why didn't anyone tell us that coming up with a floor plan would be so hard?  I think we're on drawing # 10 or #54 and we started by simply putting two plans together that just needed a little adjusting.  Or so we thought.

It's hard for me to imagine how big a room is and some rooms I can't figure out what a good size would even be.  I'm afraid the architect might fire us if we don't finalize them soon. I think that if we knew for sure if we were going to be in the house for a long time or sell it after three years, it would make it easier.  But we're trying to plan for both scenarios which is difficult.

Maybe we are being too picky. (Or maybe it's just me being too picky.) It's now too the point that I'm almost embarrassed to make changes.  I asked for one room to be smaller, but now it's too small.

Is it too late to pick a house and plan on the internet and just go with it??

Laundry basket

I've had my eye on this super cute laundry basket at PotteryBarn.com for some time and since my friend Meredith gave me a gift card, I decided to order it yesterday!  I think it will look perfect in the laundry room.

The Homeplace

Our new land in Mountain Home!

Above is the area we think the front of the house will be.

We bought two lots in the development because we wanted Lot #10 but it was really oddly shaped and we couldn't see how we could live on it without having Lot #9 to go with it.  It worked out perfect because we want to put the house almost right on the property line of the two lots.  We have right at 8 acres total.
This is looking out toward the road from the same spot as the photo above.

We closed on the land on a Friday in early June and started work that very weekend trying to clear enough trees and under brush to be able to see the creek from the area we want the house to sit.  It was HOT that weekend to say the least and we were a mess each evening at quitting time!  BUT we accomplished our goal and were darn proud of ourselves for it!  We both actually enjoyed it.  Brad got to use his new chainsaw and I stayed busy with my loppers.
The creek was the clincher for us (Hicks Creek).  We both wanted live water on the property but this is much better than we hoped for!

Before we left Mountain Home to go back to Little Rock that weekend, we just sat on the rocks looking at and listening to our creek!  We have BIG plans for this place!
I've made it no secret that I wanted to stay in Little Rock but I think I'm gonna like it here!!!
